Cadence Design Systems, a software company based in San Jose, California, has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter. Despite achieving a net profit of $323.9 million, or $1.19 per share, compared to $240.4 million, or 88 cents per share, for the same period last year, the company expects a decline in its future performance.

Looking ahead to 2024, Cadence Design Systems forecasts revenue of $4.55 billion to $4.61 billion. In contrast, analysts surveyed by FactSet predict revenue to be around $4.08 billion. Furthermore, the company expects adjusted earnings per share to be between $5.87 and $5.97, while Wall Street forecasts $5.11 per share.
Despite the strong performance in the fourth quarter, Cadence Design Systems faces challenges in maintaining its momentum going forward.
