Among the FTSE 100 constituents, the diversified business services company Rentokil Initial PLC RTO witnessed the largest decline, with its shares tumbling by 18.64%. Similarly, real estate developers firm Rightmove PLC RMV and paper/pulp company Mondi PLC MNDI saw their shares shed 14.29% and 6.08% respectively. Investment Advisors companies Hargreaves Lansdown PLC HL and abrdn PLC ABDN rounded out the top five largest decreases as their stocks fell by 6.05% and 4.03% respectively.
Prominent Stocks on the Rise
Spirax-Sarco Engineering PLC SPX, a technical services company, experienced the largest increase among FTSE 100 constituents, with its shares rallying by 2.39% on Thursday. Non-life insurance firm Admiral Group PLC ADM and securities company London Stock Exchange Group PLC LSEG also saw their shares rally, with gains of 2.39% and 1.88% respectively. Halma PLC HLMA, a precision products company, and food retail business J Sainsbury PLC SBRY rounded out the top five largest increases as their stocks climbed by 0.89% and 0.55% respectively.

The pound was up by 0.03% against the dollar GBPUSD at $1.2144, while it was down by 0.30% against the euro GBPEUR at €1.1487. Brent crude BRN00 dropped by 0.2%, reaching $91.36, and the yield on the 10-year gilt TMBMKGB-10Y, 4.651% declined by 0.060 basis points to 4.665%.
