Elevating the Executive Experience

Dynasty Financial Partners recently announced the addition of Tim Oden, a former Charles Schwab executive, to its executive-in-residence program. This unique initiative provides essential mentoring and support to registered investment advisors within the industry.

Nurturing Growth and Success

Shirl Penney, the CEO of Dynasty, highlighted the program’s origins in assisting advisors in enhancing their performance as CEOs. Offering invaluable guidance on critical subjects such as marketing, management, and business strategy, the initiative aims to encompass a wide range of expertise.

A Comprehensive Approach

According to Penney, the executive-in-residence program bears similarities to the practice of business schools wherein industry executives are involved as mentors and essential partners to clients. The intention is for this role to be part-time, with Oden spending approximately two weeks a month within the St. Petersburg headquarters of Dynasty, focusing on areas like advisor technology and the enhancement of Dynasty’s service model.

A Natural Partnership

Penney expressed confidence in Oden’s suitability for the role, citing his unparalleled understanding and experience within the RIA sector. His strategic insights and industry acumen make him an invaluable addition to the Dynasty team.

Oden Joins Dynasty Ventures

Seasoned Expert Oden Joins Dynasty

Oden recently made the transition to Dynasty after an impressive 34-year tenure at Charles Schwab. During his time at Schwab, Oden played a pivotal role in developing and expanding the RIA custody offering, ultimately establishing it as the largest in the industry. His departure from Schwab at the end of last year was driven by a desire for new challenges, as per a spokesperson for Dynasty. Interestingly, Schwab maintains a minority stake in Dynasty.

Exciting New Chapter

Upon reflecting on his decision to join Dynasty, Oden expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity presented by Shirl and the team to explore fresh strategies and business ventures. He emphasized the alignment between his values and those of Dynasty, particularly in advocating for supported independence and empowering advisors with freedom of choice. Oden is particularly looking forward to contributing to the anticipated transformation at Dynasty in 2024.

Executive-In-Residence Program

Oden is the latest addition to Dynasty’s executive-in-residence program, which was established last year. Notably, Andrew Marsh, a former executive-in-residence and ex-CEO of Richardson Wealth, now holds the position of vice chairman at Dynasty. The network currently boasts 52 RIAs with a collective total of 330 advisors.
