Chocoladefabriken Lindt & Spruengli, the Swiss chocolatier, has announced a surge in sales for 2023 and a significant organic growth in North America. Despite facing currency headwinds, the company managed to offset the negative impact and expects to see slower growth in 2024.

According to preliminary results, Lindt & Spruengli’s sales for 2023 increased by 4.6% compared to the previous year, reaching 5.20 billion Swiss francs ($6.08 billion). Despite a currency effect of -5.4%, the sales still grew by 10% organically.

In 2023, all regions contributed to the overall sales growth, with a particularly noteworthy double-digit growth in North America and the rest of the world region that includes operations outside Europe and North America.

Lindt & Spruengli remains confident in meeting its goal of achieving an operating profit margin of approximately 15.5% for 2023, exceeding the previous year’s margin of 15.0%.

Looking ahead to 2024, the company foresees a growth range of 6% to 8% in organic sales, along with an increase in the operating profit margin of 20-40 basis points. These projections align with the group’s medium to long-term target range.

The full-year results for 2023 are slated to be reported on March 5.
